Pentax has added a new mirrorless camera to the market with its K-01 model — a 16-megapixel APS-C sensor interchangeable-lens camera housed with a 3-inch LCD screen.

Designed by Marc Newson, a man known for his designs of bicycles, cars, aircraft and yachts on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, the camera has been redesigned for usability and sleek style.

The Pentax K-01 is being paired in a kit with the PENTAX-DA 40mm F2.8 XS, which the company is touting as the world's thinnest interchangeable lens.

Like similar models on the Pentax line, the K-01 uses a sensor-shift PENTAX shake and dust reduction system.

Available in black, white or yellow, the body will sell for $749 or with a lens for $899.
