The Nielsen Co. has acquired the rights to the 2011 Wedding and Portrait Photography International trade show (WPPI), as well as several other assets of Rangefinder, Inc.

Under this agreement, Nielsen, which already manages Photo District News and PhotoPlus Expo, has gained ownership of two new magazines: Rangefinder, which targets wedding and portrait photographers, and AfterCapture, which covers postproduction work. Both the magazines and the wedding expo will retain their headquarters in Los Angeles. Nielsen has said it will continue to publish both magazines.

This year's WPPI conference is scheduled to include exhibitions about fine art and commercial imagery, as well as wedding and portrait photography. The event will be held Feb. 21-23 at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas.
