The Western Publications Association has honored PhotoMedia magazine with a 2013 Maggie Award in the Best Cover in a Trade Magazine category. It is the second time PhotoMedia has won that category, which is considered one of the most competitive and prestigious of all the Maggie Awards.

The winning cover was for the Spring/Summer 2012 25th Anniversary issue of PhotoMedia, which featured Albert Watson's photograph, "Golden Boy," and was announced on April 27 at the Maggie Awards Banquet in Los Angeles.

PhotoMedia was also nominated in two other categories: Best Overall Annual, Semi-Annual or 3X Per Year Trade Magazine, also for the 25th Anniversary issue, and Best Interview or Profile/Trade for the Albert Watson profile in the same issue.

PhotoMedia has now won a total of nine Maggie Awards out of 33 nominations in the last 14 years. Other wins were for Best Semi-Annual or 3X/Year Trade Publication in 2010, Best Tabloid/Trade in 2004 and 2007, Best Cover/Trade in 2003, Best Interview or Profile/Trade in 2000 and Best Single Editorial Enhanced Photograph/Trade in 2007, and Best Single Editorial Photograph/Trade in 2011 and 2012.

Now in their 62nd year, the Maggie Awards, which honor magazine and electronic publishing excellence, are among the most prestigious and coveted industry awards for American publications operating west of the Mississippi River.
