Tough cameras are taking off in the consumer camera sphere, and Olympus's new TG-810 — a shockproof, waterproof, freezeproof, crushproof 14-megapixel camera — is at the forefront.

Though this model doesn't feature any complex manual functions or interchangeable accessories, it does offer many features of interest to an outdoor junkie. One of the first of its kind to offer 3D still shots, the TG-810 boasts the capability of shooting in the third dimension both on land and under water. Another perk for underwater photographers: The camera can be used at depths of up to 33 feet.

In addition to surviving water pressure, the TG-810 can resist up to 220 pounds of crushing pressure and temperatures of 14 degrees Fahrenheit, and is impervious to dust, dirt and other particles. Video can be captured only up to 720p, rather than at full 1080p resolution, but the camera compensates for that with other “rugged” outdoor features such as a built-in GPS, tagging capabilities, a manometer and a compass.

The camera has dual image stabilization, two new magic art filters (sparkle and punk), in-camera panorama mode, AF tracking and an eye-fi wireless card.

The Olympus TG-810 comes in black and silver and sells for $399.
