Canon has introduced a new flagship SLR with the EOS-1D X, a redesigned, full-frame camera.

One of the highlights of this new high-end camera is the ability to shoot as low as 50 ISO and as high as 204,800 ISO.

Most aspects of the camera, in fact, have been ramped up with this model including the 61-point autofocus sensor, fast shooting up to 12 fps and the 18-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor.

Access to the AF functions has also been improved. All AF settings can now be changed on their own menu tab.

Meant to be a hybrid of the Mark III and Mark IV models, the 1D X was created to offer professional recording for both stills and video. On the video side in particular, the 1D X delivers up to 30 minutes of seamless recording at full 1080p HD.

The EOS-1D X also incorporates three DIGIC processors, including Dual DIGIC 5+ image processors capable of delivering approximately 17 times more processing speed than DIGIC 4, which is particularly advantageous with features such as the new iTR (intelligent tracking and recognition) mode.

The 1D X is also the first EOS Digital SLR to feature multiple exposure capabilities, a mode that combines up to nine individual images into a single composite image.

The EOS-1D X retails for $6,800 or can be purchased with a compatible wireless file transmitter for an additional $600.
