Pentax has introduced its new K-R line of 12.4-megapixel SLR cameras, available with white, red or black camera bodies.
The compact, lightweight Pentax K-R includes autopicture, scene and custom image processing modes to allow for more automated shooting. More advanced photographers can use the full range of manual and priority controls.
Additional improvements to Pentax’s SLR cameras in general include faster frame rates (6 frames per second), higher ISO sensitivity (100-25600), and a 1/6,000-second shutter speed.
The K-R body-only configuration retails for $799, but can be purchased in a kit with an 18-55mm lens for $849; in a double lens kit with 18-55mm and 50-200mm lenses for $899; or in an alternate double-lens kit with 18-55mm and 55-300 lenses for $999.
