Olympus has another addition to the Stylus series: the Stylus 770 SW digital point-and-shoot camera. Designed to be shockproof, waterproof, freezeproof and crushproof, the ultra-compact 7.1-megapixel camera is able to withstand a water depth of 33 feet, frigid weather as low as 14 °F, a drop from five feet and 220 pounds of pressure.

The Stylus 770 SW's features include a 2.5-inch HyperCrystal LCD screen, as well as digital image stabilization, which boosts ISO sensitivity and shutter speed. It has four custom underwater scene modes, a built-in manometer that records depth and altitude, and an LED Illuminator, which helps to add light to dark waters. The water-repellent lens coating keeps it safe from water damage and allows for crystal-clear shots.

Olympus' Bright Capture technology allows for simple composition, while the scene modes for high sensitivity (up to ISO 1600) and rapid autofocus let users produce quality photos in low-light situations. The 3x lens provides the equivalent of 38-114mm focal length in 35mm-format terms, and the super macro mode captures detail as close as 2.8 inches.

To enhance photo quality, Olympus uses the TruePic turbo Image Processor. The Stylus 770 SW is able to capture information from all 7.1 million pixels with pixel micro-smoothing. The camera has fast startup and high-speed response of less than one second. It possesses 27 selectable shooting modes, including Beach & Snow and Movie modes, recordable on its xD-Picture Card.

The Stylus 770 SW sells for $379.
