Microtek's Artixscan M1 Microtek's Artixscan M1

The new ArtixScan M1, designed by Microtek, is a combined flatbed and film scanner for 35mm, 6cm, and 4 x 5-inch film formats. The product also has the capability to scan prints as large as 8.5 x 14 inches, and comes equipped with Emulsion Direct Imaging Technology (EDIT).

EDIT allows for a glassless scanner, resulting in clearer scans due to avoidance of optical distortions, aberrations, and dirt. Using 35mm film, the scanner will produce an image file equal to one from a 34-megapixel digital SLR camera.

Perfect for those in need of a high-quality scan, the ArtixScan M1 has the capability of 4,800-dpi optical resolution, 16-bit digital output per channel, autofocus and new film holders with tension technology. The impressive detail in a scan of 35mm film results in prints up to 16 x 24 inches while maintaining 300 pixels per square inch; prints from 35mm scans can be made up to 24 x 36 inches while still holding 200 pixels per inch.

The M1’s ability to deliver outstanding images from both film scans and reflective scans provides versatility and value to photo enthusiasts.

The ArtixScan M1 has a suggested retail price of $699.
