Canon has introduced its new Vixia line of high-definition camcorders. The new family includes the HF10 Dual Flash Memory, HF100 Flash Memory and HV30 HD camcorders. The HG10 AVCHD hard disk drive and HR10 AVCHD DVD camcorders have also been added to the line, as has the DW-100 DVD burner.

Vixia camcorders feature a Canon HD CMOS image sensor for full HD image capture, a Digic DV II image processor, instant autofocus and SuperRange optical image stabilization. The new line of camcorders also features Dual Flash Memory, which allows for a smaller, compact design, faster processing and longer battery life.

The HF10 offers up to six hours of high-definition video to a 16GB internal Flash drive, as well as the option to record to an SDHC memory card. The HF100 allows recording only to SDHC cards. Both offer a 12x HD video lens, a 3.3-megapixel CMOS image sensor and a 1920 x 1080 full HD resolution to capture, record and output images. Both models feature a 2.7-inch wide-screen multi-angle vivid LCD and use an intelligent lithium-ion battery that indicates battery time down to the minute.

The HV30 HD is the successor to the HV20 camcorder and provides recording to mini-DV cassettes. It features a 10x HD video lens, a 2.96-megapixel full HD CMOS image sensor, Digic DV II image processor and 2.7-inch display in a black exterior. Canon's DW-100 DVD burner allows users to burn DVDs from compatible Canon camcorders. It can also act as a player by connecting to an HDTC through Canon's HF10, HF100 or HG10 camcorders.

The Vixia HF10 Dual Flash Memory and Vixia HF100 Flash Memory camcorders will be available in April at $1,099 and $899, respectively. The DW-100 DVD burner is estimated to retail at $269 in April as well. The street price for the HG10 is $1,099; the HR10 is $1,199; and the HV30 HD is $999.
