Sony's Releases Cyber-Shot T-Series

Sony has debuted two new Cyber-shot T-series cameras, the T200 and T70. New features include an intuitive touch screen that allows users to select a subject to focus on when in shooting mode. While in playback mode, users can view what they want and zoom in to select specific objects. The cameras also feature a new "smile shutter" function, ensuring the capture of smiling faces in the images it captures.

Fujifilm Introduces Finepix S8000FD

Fujifilm has introduced the FinePix S8000fd to the market. The SLR-styled digital camera uses wide-angle, long-zoom technology, with 8-megapixel resolution. For user flexibility and control, the S8000fd comes equipped with Fujinon's 18X wide-angle optical zoom lens, with a 27mm-486mm equivalency. To prevent dust contamination, the fixed lens is a sealed system.

The camera has the capability of achieving ISO 3200 and ISO 6400 at 50 percent resolution and features a full-resolution ISO equivalency of ISO 1600. To reduce blurring caused by camera shake, the S8000sf has high light sensitivities allowing for faster shutter speeds.

Canon's new PowerShot G9 digital camera is designed for creative control and compact convenience. The camera comes standard with Raw Mode and gives the photographer the option of using RAW/JPEG simultaneous-capture functionality, JPEGs for immediate use and RAW images for reproduction. The 12.1-megapixel resolution and 6X optical zoom lens combine with Canon's Optical Image Stabilizer for sharp results.

Panasonic's Lumix DMC-L10 Debuts

The new Lumix DMC-L10 is Panasonic's latest addition to its digital SLR camera line. The camera features a Supersonic Wave Filter system that prevents dust from collecting on the sensor and comes with a 10.1-megapixel Live MOS Sensor and a 2.5-inch Live View LCD monitor that can rotate 270 degrees. The camera has an optical image stabilizer, advanced scene modes and autofocusing methods, including 9-point autofocus, multi, 3-point autofocus, one-point autofocus and spot.

Canon has introduced the new EOS 40D Digital SLR with a new autofocus sensor and enhanced 10.1-megapixel CMOS imaging sensor. Designed for amateur photographers and entry-level professionals, the EOS 40D offers a super-efficient Digic III image processor, the latest creation of Canon's proprietary image processing engine. The 6.5-frame-per-second shooting speed capability results in bursts of up to 75 large/fine JPEGs or 17 RAW images for continuous shooting, derived from the processor; DDR SDRAM high-speed memory; four-channel-per-line sensor readout; and two separate motors for shutter and mirror operation.

Nikon's D300 Professional Powers Up

Nikon has introduced the D300 professional digital SLR camera. The camera's Expeed Image Processing System acts as the central hub for most of the D300's features. The D300 produces rapid shots with a speed of 6 frames per second and up to 8 frames per second when using the MB-D10 Multi-Power battery pack option. The camera has the capability to shoot up to 100 shots in a continuous burst at full 12.3-megapixel resolution.
