Casio Introduces Hign-Speed Exilims with Burst Shooting

Casio has announced six new Exilim compact digital cameras, some capable of shooting at burst up to 30 frames per second.

The 9.1-megapixel EX-FS10 and EX-FC100 offer burst shooting at up to 30 frames per second (fps) and movies at 1,000 fps. They also feature a Slow-Motion View option that lets the user watch the movement of the subject in slow motion before capture. The EX-FS10 measures 0.64-inch thick and offers a 3x optical inner-zoom lens and a 2.5-inch high-performance LCD. The EX-FC100 offers a 5x optical zoom lens with a CMOS shift, anti-shake function and a 2.7-inch LCD. Movies on both cameras can be recorded in high definition.

The 12.1-megapixel EX-Z400 boasts a wide-angle 28mm, 4x optical zoom lens, a 3-inch LCD monitor and a CCD shift anti-shake mechanism. The battery can take around 550 shots on a full charge. The 10.1-megapixel EX-Z270 also offers a 28mm, 4x optical zoom lens and CCD shift anti-shake mechanism with a 2.7-inch wide-screen LCD. The 12.1-megapixel EX-S12 measures half an inch at its thinnest part and offers a 3x optical zoom and a 2.7-inch wide-screen LCD in a stainless-steel finish. The EX-Z400, EX-Z270 and EX-S12 are built on the new Exilim Engine 4.0, and all models feature the Dynamic Photo function to cut and paste moving subjects onto new backgrounds.

Casio has also released the Exilim EX-S5 camera, featuring a new design concept that makes high-quality cameras simpler to use. It will be priced at $179.

The EX-FS10 will retail at $349 and will be available in blue, gray, red and white; the EX-FC100, at $399, will be available in gray and white; and the EX-Z400 ($299), the EX-Z270 ($229) and the EX-S12 ($249) will be available in silver, pink, green and black.
