Phase One has announced the Phase One P 40+, the company's second Sensor+ enabled digital camera back and camera system.

The P 40+ offers two image-capture modes. For high-quality prints, the normal mode captures images with a 40-megapixel resolution.

For higher sensitivity in low-light or faster handheld situations, users can also shoot in Sensor+ mode with a 10-megapixel resolution at 1.8 frames per second.

Both modes feature a 12.5 f-stop dynamic range and a film speed range of ISO 50 to ISO 3200.

The P 40+ digital back has an estimated price of $20,000, and the camera system has an estimated price of $23,000.
