Nikon has introduced an interchangeable-lens, digital SLR camera that incorporates features of its D70 model while introducing refinements for greater ease and better pictures. Building on its EOS Digital Rebel series, Canon has developed a faster, smaller 8-megapixel Rebel XT SLR. Olympus has released the next generation in its Stylus series: the Stylus 500. The camera features a 2.5-inch HyperCrystal LCD, 5 megapixels of image resolution and a compact, all-weather body.

Casio has added to its Exilim line with the EX-P700. The camera has a 7.2-megapixel CCD with 4X optical zoom and a 0.01-second release time lag.
