Sony has engineered a series of new Alpha SLR cameras with translucent mirror technology, enabling simultaneous autofocusing and image capturing.

Sony has released two new entry-level SLR cameras – the Alpha A500, a 12.3-megapixel camera, and the Alpha A550, a higher-resolution 14.2-megapixel camera. Both cameras feature a 3-inch LCD screen, Live View features and Auto HDR capabilities.

Sony has introduced the Alpha DSLR-A850, a full-frame 24.6-megapixel-resolution camera with an Exmor CMOS sensor, a three-inch Xtra Fine LCD screen, a pentaprism viewfinder and a nine-point autofocus system.

The new CMOS sensor captures more vibrant, lifelike colors and textures while producing images that pass through the noise reduction filter. With these two systems in place, images can still be captured in high-resolution format up to ISO 6400.

Sony has unveiled its next installment for its Alpha digital SLR system. The newly released DSLR-A700 digital camera features advanced imaging technology, ultra-responsive operation, dust and moisture resistance, and Super SteadyShot Inside image stabilization. The camera has a 12.2-megapixel Exmor CMOS sensor that performs analog-to-digital signal conversion and dual noise reduction.
