Mamiya has recently launched the new 645AFD II, which seamlessly supports both film and digital capture all in one camera system and incorporates the latest auto focusing technology. In addition to a faster, more sensitive focus response, the camera offers a selective spot or wide focus area within its "I + I" CCD focus pattern sensor array. Pentax Unveils First Digital 645

At the Spring Tokyo Trade Show, Pentax presented its first 645 digital medium-format camera. The professional-quality camera has a Pentax 645 autofocus mount, and is compatible with existing smc Pentax 645 interchangeable lenses. The camera also features a Kodak extra-large CCD image sensor with 18.6 total megapixels.

Pricing has yet to be announced.

Tamron Discontinues Bronica

Tamron USA has ceased sales of Bronica ETR-Si, SQ-Ai, SQ-B and GS-1 cameras and accessories in the United States market. Takashi Inoue, the company’s president, cited the advent of digital photography for the decline in medium-format sales. The current sales volume cannot sustain the production of Bronica SLR products, he said.
