Nikon has introduced the new AF-S DX Nikkor 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens for any existing Nikon DX-format digital SLR system or as the ideal counterpart to the new Nikon D90.

The lens offers a 5.8x zoom range, and a visual perspective equivalent to that created by a 27-157.5mm lens on a 35mm film camera for a broad focal range. An additional benefit is the Silent Wave Motor for quiet and accurate autofocus operation and vibration-reduction image stabilization.

The newly designed optical system integrates an extra-low-dispersion glass element and an advanced aspherical lens element to allow for better image reproduction capability.

The AF-S DX Nikkor 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens is also compatible with the FX-format D3 and D700 and has an estimated selling price of $399.
